What is stress? It is a physical, mental or emotional reaction or response to an external or self induced stimulus.

We can readily identify with an external stimulus, which has roused us: work, finances, traffic, politics, world affairs, pollution, and conflict with others. Self induced ones are just as bad, they are all the negative, anxious, worrying, angry thoughts we have.

Being as smart as we are and living this modern lifestyle is a double edged sword. It is paramount that we protect ourselves from the effects of long term stress.

The way we respond or handle stress impacts on our general health, our mental, emotional and behavioral capacity.

Long term stress symptoms from constant stress can and do cause damage to your health and well-being! By increasing alpha brainwaves you can combat stress and reverse these negative long-term effects.

The neurotransmitter Serotonin is a well known contributor to feelings of well-being; it is also known to contribute to happiness, calm and social confidence. Low levels of serotonin have been linked to depression. Alpha brainwaves are associated with an increase in serotonin and a reduction in symptoms of stress.

In an emotionally stable mind, overreacting to stressful stimuli simply does not happen. Why? It’s because you are able to remain in a tranquil and reasonable state of mind.
